O’Romeo vs Tu Yaa Main box office collection day 2: Shahid Kapoor’s O’Romeo launched on the big screen on Friday, February 13. A grippingly action-packed performance from Kapoor, this Vishal Bharadwaj directorial also features Tripti Dimri as the love interest opposite Kapoor. Also from the box office shadows, Shanaya Kapoor’s ‘Tu Yaa Main’ emerges as silent thunder, struggling to make an impact on its audiences.
Also starring Adarsh Gourav and Nish Hair owner Parul Gulati, Tu Yaa Main is a twisted modern love story with a dark twist. In an attempt to capture the Valentine’s Weekend 2026, Indian cinephiles do not seem interested in a romantic plot, raising questions about the relevance of Valentine’s Day, yet again.
Here’s a quick comparison of who’s winning the box office race – Shanaya Kapoor’s Tu Yaa Main or Shahid Kapoor’s O’ Romeo.
O’Romeo box office collection day 2
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, O’Romeo opened to a Rs 8.5 crore opening day. Soaring past Shahid Kapoor’s Deva (2025), the action-romance movie was off to a positive start. Early estimates from the first Saturday reveal a Rs 1.6 crore collection, taking the overall gross beyond the Rs 10 crore mark.
At the same time, the occupancy rate increased to nearly 10 per cent in the morning shows, kicking off Valentine’s Day 2026 to a positive start.
Tu Yaa Main box office collection day 2
As per Sacnilk, Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav’s Tu Yaa Main had a much lower opening. Not even near the Rs 1 crore mark, the dark romance drama minted Rs 55 lakh on its debut. With an attempt to profit from the Valentine’s Day crowd, Tu Yaa Main is gradually increasing its market dominance throughout the day. Early estimates report a Rs 16 lakh collection so far. With barely any advance collection, the Shanaya Kapoor starrer has inched above the Rs 70 lakh mark.
Occupancy rates have been equally low, with Tu Yaa Main filling barely 10 per cent of seats across theatres. The 500+ shows across India only gathered its highest during night shows, that too, at 12 per cent. While this romance thriller is off to a rocky start, the box office journey looks promising for Shahid Kapoor’s O’Romeo.
