Rapper Nicki Minaj stunned the Internet with her viral support for US President Donald Trump. Amid the serious ICE crackdown, the rapper sparked uproar on social media as she claimed to be Trump’s ‘number one fan’. During her appearance at the Accounts Summit, she also added that the ‘hate’ motivated her.

Shortly after this speech, Minaj took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a photo of a ‘gold card’ – an investor visa that gave her a US residency permit. She captioned it ‘welp’ as the post went viral, sending her fans and followers into a frenzy online. Posted nearly three hours ago, today, the post received over 4 million views and over 6000 comments.

Another viral video of the incident showed Minaj greeting the rest of Trump’s cabinet and MAGA supporters. The US President was quick to remark, “They forgot I was here now!” which sent the group into laughter. However, the Internet did not seem as pleased by Minaj’s support.

What did Nicki Minaj say about Trump?

During her address at the summit, the Super Bass rapper said, “I am probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change. The hate, or what people have to say, does not affect me at all.”

She added how the hate motivated her and claimed how it made her want to support him more. “It actually motivates me to support him more…We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him,” and termed the comments against Trump as ‘smear campaigns.’ “It’s not going to work,” she clapped back.

In another recent post on her official X page, she shared a TikTok video. Delivering another testament for Trump, she said, “Hello, guys. I am with my favourite president. The best president of all time.” It featured Trump saying, “And I’m with the queen of rap.”

Did Minaj pay for her Gold Card?

According to government policy, a non-refundable fee of $15,000 is required to process the application for the Gold Card. If the applicant passes the checks, they must make a ‘contribution’ of $1 million to the US government, which is sometimes even called a ‘gift’.

During her speech, Minaj revealed that she had made a six-figure pledge to support fan investments through the administration’s new child savings initiatives. Minaj has been actively vocal about her immigration status and how she came into the US without legal documents, while her parents had permanent residency.

‘Presidential Barbie’

The netizens were quick to call out Minaj’s recent campaign; however, not the first time she has overtly expressed her support for MAGA. While some called her a ‘presidential Barbie’, referring to her song, Barbie, others questioned if it was AI.

“Quite the fall from grace. Sad way to go out,” wrote a fan reacting to the duo, who posed together for the cameras – hand in hand. However, several MAGA fans thronged the comment section to express support for this collaboration between rap and Trump. “Renaissance painters could not have prepared us for this,” reacted another user to the images they posted together.
