Rani Mukerji returned as Shivani Shivaji Roy with high expectations riding on Mardaani 3. The film also marks her 30th year in Hindi cinema, making it an emotional milestone for the actor. While the film opened on a decent note, its box office collections slowed down in the second week.

Mardaani 3 collected Rs 4 crore on its first Friday. The film showed growth over the weekend, earning Rs 6.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.25 crore on Sunday. The opening weekend total crossed Rs 17 crore.

Mardaani 3 two-week box office collections Rs 26.3 crore

After the weekend, collections dropped on Monday to Rs 2.25 crore. The numbers stayed around the Rs 2 crore mark through the week before dipping further by Thursday.

By the end of Week 1, the film had collected Rs 26.3 crore. While not poor, the hold was not strong enough to signal a long, powerful run. Compared to the earlier films in the series, this installment did not generate the same level of strong word-of-mouth during the weekdays.

The second Friday brought in Rs 1.85 crore. On Saturday, collections jumped to Rs 3.5 crore, followed by Rs 4.25 crore on Sunday. This increase gave the film a short boost and suggested that weekend audiences were still interested. However, the collection eventually declined during weekdays.

Mardaani 3 box office day 13: Nearing Rs 40 crore

On the second Monday, the film collected Rs 1.2 crore, followed by Rs 1.6 crore on Tuesday. Early estimates for Day 13 (second Wednesday) stand at Rs 1.10 crore.

With this, the total India net collection has reached Rs 39.80 crore. The film is close to crossing Rs 40 crore, but daily numbers show a clear downward trend.

Mixed audience response

In this installment, Shivani Shivaji Roy takes on a beggar mafia and a child-trafficking network. Rani Mukerji’s performance has been praised, but the story has received mixed reactions.

Many viewers feel the plot is too familiar and follows the same pattern as the earlier films. Even with new actors like Janki Bodiwala, some say the script lacks the strong impact and intensity of the previous parts.

Tough competition ahead

The next few days will not be easy. Border 2 is still attracting big crowds, and new films are releasing this Friday. With fewer screens available, Mardaani 3 may struggle to keep up.

Crossing the Rs 50 crore mark will need a big jump over the weekend. For now, the film is performing decently but has not matched the success of the earlier films in the series.
