Veteran Tollywood actor Chiranjeevi, has once again asserted his dominance at the box office with his latest festive release, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu (MSVPG). The film is the megastar’s quickest hit yet and shows no signs of stopping any time soon.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the movie successfully took advantage of the lucrative Sankranti window – maintaining a steady and massive presence at the Box Office. As of its sixth day – January 18, 2026 – the film continues to draw massive crowds; outperforming several releases currently in theatres and cementing its status as a commercial blockbuster.

Starring Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara in the titular roles as an undercover agent and his aggrieved wife and supported by an ensemble cast of Catherine Tresa and Daggubati Venkatesh, the family comedy is a clear crowd favourite and winning over more via positive word of mouth. Let’s see how it fared on the 6th day of it’s release.

The Box Office prowess of Chiranjeevi

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 18.50 crore net in India on its sixth day. The film’s steady performance pushed its total domestic net to Rs 139.85 crore by the end of its first week. This was largely due to a well-timed release that captured the holiday momentum; as a result, the movie didn’t see the usual weekday dip and continued to bring in strong numbers even after the initial rush.

On the global front, The Indian Express reported that MSVPG had officially breached the Rs 200 crore milestone, earning approximately Rs 226 crores. An enormous part of this success came from the North American market, where the film hit the $2 million mark faster than expected. Industry experts pointed out that the film is currently performing better than other major January releases and has already managed to recover its Rs 200 crore budget.

The film’s ability to maintain double-digit figures into its first weekend suggests it is well on its way to becoming one of Chiranjeevi’s highest-grossing films to date. Currently it sits at the third highest spot, with his 2019 release Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy claiming the top spot with a Box Office collection of Rs 246.60 crore. However, it will not be long – given the momentum – before MSVPG outpaces it to become #1.

Theater occupancy across cities

The film’s universal appeal was clear from the Day 6 occupancy rates reported by Sacnilk. Across the country, MSVPG saw an overall Telugu occupancy rate of 61.07% but that number jumped to over 70% for the evening and night shows as families headed out for Saturday screenings.

In the Telugu states, the demand was even higher. Hyderabad saw about 66% occupancy over 555 shows, with night shows hitting 81%. In places like Warangal and Vijayawada, theaters were packed, with overall occupancy around 80%. In fact, evening shows in those cities were at 95% capacity, which basically means they were sold out. Even in cities like Bengaluru and Chennai, the film drew decent crowds, showing that Chiranjeevi still has a huge draw outside his home turf. It was clear that good reviews for the comedy and his performance were bringing people back for a second look.
