Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi has once again proved that the title of the Box Office King belongs to him, with his latest release: Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. The film which was released on January 12, 2026, has outperformed all expectations within just five days of release and is slated to become one of the highest earners of the veteran actor’s career.

By the end of its first Friday, the movie successfully crossed the Rs 200 crore milestone at the global Box Office; an impressive feat to achieve so early on. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film stars Chiranjeevi in the titular role of an undercover officer who is trying to win his wife back. The movie also features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara as his aggrieved wife, Catherine Tresa, VTV Ganesh and an extended cameo by fan-favourite Daggubati Venkatesh.

Performance at the Box Office

The film is showing great stability in its earnings, even on weekdays. On its fifth day, which fell on a working Friday, the movie collected approximately Rs 18.50 crore net across India. This brought its total domestic net collection to a solid Rs 120.35 crore. It is usually difficult for big-budget films to maintain this kind of momentum after the initial opening weekend, but the festive holiday spirit has definitely helped keep the theaters full. Many industry trackers have pointed out that the film is holding its ground better than other major releases this season, showing the enduring popularity of the lead cast.

On the international stage, the film is performing just as strongly. It has seen a huge response in the United States, where it comfortably moved past the $3 million mark. With the total worldwide gross now sitting at roughly Rs 226 crore, the film is on track to become one of Chiranjeevi’s most successful projects in recent years. If this trend continues over the second weekend, it could potentially break the records set by his previous blockbusters like Waltair Veerayya.

Theatre occupancy across major cities

On Day 5, the film saw an overall occupancy of about 60% in the Telugu states, with numbers rising sharply to over 72% for the evening and night shows. This surge shows that families are heading out in large numbers to catch the film.

Across major Indian cities, the performance of the film was likewise impressive. In Vizag, occupancy rates hit a record 94% while in other areas like Kakinada and Guntur, theatres were almost completely filled with occupancy rates of 95%. Vijayawada had an impressive 87% occupancy rate and Hyderabad – which is bringing in the lion’s share of collections – had an occupancy rate of 70% across nearly 570 shows which is a monumental number.

Apart from these cities, even Bengaluru saw a strong 45-50% occupancy in Telugu-dominant pockets. With over 2.5 million tickets sold on BookMyShow within its first five days, the film is poised for an earth-shattering second weekend.
