Gaurav Munjal, CEO of Unacademy, has raised some eyebrows with his latest comments about cancel culture, specifically in the wake of comedian Samay Raina’s ongoing controversy. With his usual sharpness, Munjal took to social media to question the ever-growing trend of banning content, particularly after the backlash Raina faced over his involvement in the India’s Got Talent show.

Munjal posted: “Let’s ban Game of Thrones, Succession, Sacred Games, Black Warrant and other shows like these as well while we are at it. They are also available for access easily behind a Paywall.” His suggestion? If we’re banning one thing, why not go all in and ban the entire internet? The comment, in true Munjal style, had a hint of sarcasm and a point that resonated with many.

The social media response was swift, with users voicing their thoughts. One user, clearly not a fan of selective bans, argued, “If we’re banning one, might as well ban them all—same access, same logic… Let the judiciary, government, or constitution representatives decide, not social media mobs.” Fair point. Another user poked fun at the whole debate, suggesting that people should “relax” and simply unsubscribe from content they don’t like. After all, no one’s forcing anyone to watch it.

However, not all were on Munjal’s side. Some suggested he should stick to his entrepreneurial role and not dive into these debates.
