Composer Palash Muchhal has finally broken his silence on the news surrounding his delayed wedding with Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana. He took to Instagram Stories to confirm that the wedding has been called off. Smriti also shared a separate statement on Sunday afternoon, confirming the news.

Palash says it’s ‘time to move on’

In his Instagram story, Palash wrote, “I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship.” He also addressed circulating rumours suggesting that the wedding was postponed due to his alleged infidelity during pre-wedding events.

“It has been very difficult for me to see people react so easily to baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to me,” Palash said. “It’s the most difficult phase of my life, and I will deal with it gracefully, holding on to my beliefs. I truly hope we, as a society, learn to pause before judging someone based on unverified gossip, whose sources are never identified. Our words can wound in ways we may never understand.”

Legal action against rumours

Palash also warned that his team would take strict legal action against those spreading false and defamatory content online. “While we think about these things, many people in the world are facing drastic consequences. My team will be taking strict legal action against those spreading false and defamatory content. Thank you to everyone who has stood by me with kindness in this tough time,” he added.

What exactly happened with Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchchal: Wedding timeline and setbacks

Palash and Smriti were scheduled to get married in Sangli, Smriti’s hometown, on November 24. The pre-wedding celebrations began a few days earlier and included several members of the Indian women’s cricket team.

However, on the morning of the wedding, Smriti’s manager informed the guests that the ceremony had been postponed indefinitely as her father, Srinivas Mandhana, had been hospitalized due to heart-attack-like symptoms. He remains admitted but is stable and recovering.

At the same time, Palash also faced health issues. Reports say he was rushed to a private hospital in Mumbai after developing a viral infection and severe acidity. Doctors treated him promptly, and he was discharged after recovery, returning to his hotel.

The combination of these unforeseen health emergencies caused the wedding plans to be delayed. Later, both Palash and Smriti made the difficult decision to call off the wedding entirely.

Fans react with shock

Fans of the couple expressed shock at the news, with many offering messages of support to both Palash and Smriti. Despite the heartbreak, Palash urged people to be mindful of rumours and unverified gossip.

With the wedding now officially off, Palash stated that he is ready to move forward while maintaining grace and positivity in this challenging phase.
