Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos box office collection day 2: The box office numbers are in for Day 2 of Vir Das’s latest release Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, and it’s a bit of a slow climb. After a quiet start on Friday, the film managed to pull in an estimated Rs 1.50 crore on Saturday. While that is a slight improvement over its Rs 1.25 crore opening, it’s not exactly the “Saturday jump” the makers were likely hoping for.

As it stands, the two-day domestic total for the Aamir Khan-produced comedy is roughly Rs 2.75 crore.

Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos – Overall occupancy

The film is struggling to find its footing outside of a few specific pockets. According to trade data from Sacnilk, the overall occupancy for Hindi screenings stayed around 12.73 per cent. However, there’s a clear divide in where people are actually watching it. Bengaluru and Chennai saw much better footfalls (over 25 per cent occupancy in some shows), while markets like Jaipur, Lucknow, and even Delhi-NCR remained largely unresponsive.

The film, co-directed by Das and Kavi Shastri, is being marketed as a niche, “brainrot” comedy—think Delhi Belly meets modern Internet humor. But while that resonates with a younger, urban crowd, it doesn’t seem to be clicking with the masses yet.

Sunday is the only hope for Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos

Despite cameos from Aamir Khan and Imran Khan (marking a rare appearance for the latter), the film is being squeezed out by Ranveer Singh’s massive hit Dhurandhar, which is still pulling in crowds even in its seventh week. It’s also facing direct competition from the new release Rahu Ketu, which actually managed a slightly better Saturday collection of Rs 1.60 crore.

Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos: Reviews

Reviews have been all over the place. Some critics are calling it a “meta-comedy riot,” while others find it too repetitive and exhausting. With mixed word-of-mouth and a modest budget of around Rs 25 crore to recover, the pressure is now entirely on Sunday.

If Happy Patel doesn’t see a massive surge today, it’s going to have a very difficult time surviving the Monday blues when ticket prices drop and weekday kicks in.
