Golden Globes 2026 Nominations: The nominations for the 83rd Golden Globe Awards were announced on Monday from Beverly Hills, California. This year’s award ceremony will take place on 11 January which will honour the best work in film and television over the past year.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s film One Battle After Another led the nominations with nine categories in film, making it the most recognised film of the year. In television, The White Lotus received six nominations. The Norwegian film Sentimental Value also stood out with eight nominations.
The nominations were announced by actors Marlon Wayans and Skye P Marshall during a live event.
Golden Globes 2026 Nominations: Film categories
The Golden Globes released a wide list of nominees across all film categories. In the Best Film – Drama section, the nominated films are Frankenstein, Hamnet, It Was Just an Accident, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value and Sinners.
In the Best Film – Musical or Comedy category, the nominees include Blue Moon, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice, Nouvelle Vague and One Battle After Another.
For acting categories, several well-known stars received nominations. In Best Female Actor – Drama, the nominees are Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Jennifer Lawrence (Die My Love), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), Julia Roberts (After the Hunt), Tessa Thompson (Hedda) and Eva Victor (Sorry, Baby).
In Best Male Actor – Drama, the nominees include Joel Edgerton (Train Dreams), Oscar Isaac (Frankenstein), Dwayne Johnson (The Smashing Machine), Michael B Jordan (Sinners), Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent) and Jeremy Allen White (Deliver Me from Nowhere).
In the musical or comedy acting categories, the nominees for Best Female Actor are Rose Byrne, Cynthia Erivo, Kate Hudson, Chase Infiniti, Amanda Seyfried and Emma Stone. For Best Male Actor, the nominees are Timothée Chalamet, George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, Lee Byung-hun and Jesse Plemons.
The animated film category features Arco, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – Infinity Castle, Elio, KPop Demon Hunters, Little Amélie and Zootopia 2.
In the non-English film category, the nominees include It Was Just an Accident, No Other Choice, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, Sirāt and The Voice of Hind Rajab.
Supporting acting nominations include Emily Blunt, Elle Fanning, Ariana Grande, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Amy Madigan and Teyana Taylor on the female side. For male supporting roles, the nominees are Benicio del Toro, Jacob Elordi, Paul Mescal, Sean Penn, Adam Sandler and Stellan Skarsgård.
In direction, the nominees are Paul Thomas Anderson, Ryan Coogler, Guillermo del Toro, Jafar Panahi, Joachim Trier and Chloé Zhao. The screenplay category includes writers from films such as Marty Supreme, Sinners, It Was Just an Accident, Sentimental Value and Hamnet.
The Best Original Score category includes Alexandre Desplat, Ludwig Göransson, Jonny Greenwood, Max Richter and Hans Zimmer. The Best Original Song category includes tracks from Avatar: Fire and Ash, KPop Demon Hunters, Sinners, Wicked: For Good and Train Dreams.
The Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category features major commercial releases such as Avatar: Fire and Ash, F1, KPop Demon Hunters, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Sinners, Weapons, Wicked: For Good and Zootopia 2.
The Cecil B DeMille Award will be given to Helen Mirren for her career achievements.
Golden Globes 2026 Nominations: Television categories
The television categories also feature a strong list of nominees.
In Best Television Series – Drama, the nominations went to The Diplomat, The Pitt, Pluribus, Severance, Slow Horses and The White Lotus.
For Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, the nominees are Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Nobody Wants This, Only Murders in the Building and The Studio.
Limited series and anthology projects also received attention, with nominations for Adolescence, All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, Black Mirror, Dying for Sex and The Girlfriend.
In acting categories for drama, the nominees include Kathy Bates, Britt Lower, Helen Mirren, Bella Ramsey, Keri Russell and Rhea Seehorn. For male actors, the list includes Sterling K Brown, Diego Luna, Gary Oldman, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Scott and Noah Wyle.
In comedy acting, the nominated female actors are Kristen Bell, Ayo Edebiri, Selena Gomez, Natasha Lyonne, Jenna Ortega and Jean Smart. The male nominees include Adam Brody, Steve Martin, Glen Powell, Seth Rogen, Martin Short and Jeremy Allen White.
In limited series acting categories, Claire Danes, Rashida Jones, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Snook, Michelle Williams and Robin Wright are nominated. The male nominees are Jacob Elordi, Paul Giamatti, Stephen Graham, Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law and Matthew Rhys.
Supporting performance nominees in television include Carrie Coon, Erin Doherty, Hannah Einbinder, Catherine O’Hara, Parker Posey and Aimee Lou Wood on the female side. The male supporting nominees are Owen Cooper, Billy Crudup, Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, Tramell Tillman and Ashley Walters.
The standup comedy category includes Bill Maher, Brett Goldstein, Kevin Hart, Kumail Nanjiani, Ricky Gervais and Sarah Silverman. The Best Podcast nominees are Armchair Expert, Call Her Daddy, Good Hang With Amy Poehler, The Mel Robbins Podcast, SmartLess and Up First.
The Carol Burnett Award will be presented to Sarah Jessica Parker for her work in television.
