Junaid Khan-Sai Pallavi Ek Din teaser OUT: Aamir Khan‘s home production, ‘Ek Din’, featuring his son Junaid Khan and Ramayana actor Sai Pallavi, is officially out. With the poster launched yesterday on social media, the one-minute teaser dropped earlier today. Hours after its release, the netizens couldn’t help but find an uncanny resemblance between the Thai film ‘One Day’.

Junaid Khan, who made his debut in 2025 alongside Khushi Kapoor in Loveyappa, faced the wrath of social media trolls. With the rom-com flopping at the box office, it left cinephiles questioning Khan’s future in the industry and how he would recover from his future roles. However, the fate of ‘Ek Din’ doesn’t seem too different, as per several reviews on X (formerly Twitter), calling out the potential remake.

Ek Din teaser reviews

Reacting to the teaser posted on the official X account of Aamir Khan Productions, a user wrote, “Some stories don’t need a film to be made on them,” while others hoped for a ‘better debut’ for Sai Pallavi, who is set to star beside Ranbir Kapoor in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, later this year.

Accusing the makers for copying another film’s screenplay, the Internet also pointed out similar costumes for the lead characters, earmuffs, a chunky cap, and a heavy jacket for the actors. However, a netizen wrote, “Scene to scene uthaya hu hai par lag toh sundar raha hai ngl [It seems copied, scene by scene, but not going to lie, it looks good].”

Several netizens also praised the background score and called it ‘beautiful’. Apart from ‘One Day’, another netizen spotted the Junaid Khan-Sai Pallavi starrer to be the remake of ‘If Only.’ At the same time, another user hoped, “This better not be a remake of One Day starring Jim Sturgess and Anne Hathaway.” While a humorous comment added, “Had I been the director, I would have asked him to sit at home,” pointed at Junaid Khan’s role in ‘Ek Din’.

It also came as a fresh piece amid action and spy-thrillers like Dhurandhar, Battle of Galwan, Border 2, Ikkis, and Dhurandhar 2. However, with the decreasing popularity of rom-coms, a trend from 2025, the success of the ‘Ek Din’ all depends on what the audience wants to watch. The Junaid Khan-Sai Pallavi starrer has been scheduled for a May 1 release.
