Dharmendra’s health has been in the news since earlier this month. After his recent hospitalisation, Dharmendra on November 12 got discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital and was recovering at home. The veteran actor was earlier hospitalised on October 31 after complaining of breathlessness.

Adding to agencies security at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai was reportedly increased on Monday. Police movement and heightened security around the area have sparked speculation online. While no confirmation has come from Dharmendra’s family, the unusual activity has intensified fears among fans.
What happened to Dharmendra?
Dharmendra was admitted to the hospital shortly before October 31 after experiencing breathlessness. His condition became serious, and he required ventilator support for a brief period. He was discharged on November 12 after showing improvement.
During this time, widespread rumours about his death created panic, prompting his wife, Hema Malini, and daughter, Esha Deol, to issue a statement on November 11 confirming that he was alive and recovering.
Despite the recent health challenges, the family had been planning to celebrate Dharmendra’s milestone 90th birthday next month. Fans across the country continue to hope for positive news and are sending prayers for his speedy recovery.

The makers of Ikkis shared a new character poster of veteran actor Dharmendra on Monday, calling him a “timeless legend.” In the film, Dharmendra plays M. L. Khetarpal, the father of war hero Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. The movie is directed by Sriram Raghavan and will release in theatres on December 25.

Dharmendra, who appeared in around 300 films over a 65-year career—from Satyakam to Sholay—passed away in Mumbai on Monday at the age of 89. He would have turned 90 on December 8.
The veteran star will next be seen on screen in the upcoming film Ikkis.
