Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur-starrer Dacoit continues to struggle at the box office. Though the action-drama saw a spike in earnings on Day 5, the overall performance remains weak. As per early estimates by Sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 3 crore in India on Tuesday. This is a slight improvement from Monday, when it collected Rs 2.70 crore.
With this, the film’s total India net collection has reached about Rs 25.50 crore. The India gross stands at around Rs 29.69 crore so far. Even with the small jump on Tuesday, the collections are not very strong.
Dacoit worldwide box office collection day 5
On Day 5, Dacoit collected around Rs 75 lakh overseas, as per Sacnilk. This takes its total overseas collection to nearly Rs 12 crore. The film’s worldwide gross collection has now reached about Rs 41.69 crore. Looking at these numbers, the film is moving forward slowly, but it still has a long way to go.
Weekend decent, weekdays weak
The film had a decent start during its opening weekend. As per the data by Sacnilk, it earned Rs 6.55 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 6.85 crore on Saturday and Rs 6.40 crore on Sunday. However, the collections dropped sharply on Monday, which is often seen as an important test for films. Tuesday showed a slight recovery, but not enough to make a big difference.
Reports suggest that the film has been made on a budget of around Rs 80 to 100 crore. With current earnings, it is clear that the film is far behind its expected target.
Mixed response affects footfall
Before release, Dacoit had created some curiosity among audiences. But after hitting theatres, the response has been mixed. Some viewers appreciated the emotional scenes and parts of the story. At the same time, many people criticised the weak storyline and performances.
Because of this mixed feedback, the number of people going to theatres has remained low. This has directly affected the film’s box office performance.
