BTS World Tour: The K-pop boy band BTS is set to make its comeback after a four-year hiatus, and fans are going wild. With a global fan base, from Asia to the US, the K-pop idols have officially announced their 2026-27 world tour across 79 dates. From Asia to North America, and from Australia to Europe, the seven-member band will commence their first-ever BTS world tour global appearance since their last show in 2021, the Permission to Dance on Stage tour.

Set to cross the $1 billion mark, including ticket sales, promotions, and more, experts question whether this will be a bigger phenomenon than Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. The record-shattering music world tour not only involved cities changing their name to welcome the global pop icon, but also several terror threats along the way. However, the BTS comeback is touted to be the biggest comeback in K-pop history.

BTS World Tour vs Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

Previously, in 2019, BTS performed in the US and South Korea, only. The K-pop act garnered nearly $246 million at the global box office and became the first Korean show to headline Wembley Stadium. However, the members, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, V, RM, Jung Kook and Jimin, are bringing their fans, which could be the biggest music concert of 2026.

However, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour grossed over $2 billion across 149 shows. It hosted over 10 million fans globally. The Eras Tour helped Swift cross the historic benchmark and become the biggest female pop icon, surpassing Beyoncé to become the richest musician, too. As critics await the comeback of the BTS Army, even after their compulsory military enrollment, can they tip the TS scale? The four-year hiatus may or may not be seen as a loss in momentum, but the BTS Army is far from over. But as compared to the decades-long fan worship from Swifties, an entire generation of millennials has grown up along with her.
