The box office roar of Border 2 is getting louder as the film enters its second weekend. After a dominant opening week, the war epic has witnessed a massive uptick in collections, comfortably crossing the Rs 350 crore mark at the global box office. The sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 classic, starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, is now officially the highest-grossing Indian film of 2026.

Border 2 box office collection

Following the typical weekday dip, the film showed incredible resilience on its ninth day. After earning Rs 10.75 crore on Friday, Border 2 registered a phenomenal 65 per cent jump on Saturday, raking in approximately Rs 17.75 crore net. This brings its total domestic collection to an impressive Rs 252.25 crore net (roughly Rs 303 crore gross).

The film’s first-week performance was bolstered by a record-breaking Republic Day haul of Rs 59 crore, and the current momentum suggests that the nostalgia factor, combined with intense action, is still drawing massive crowds to the theaters.

Border 2 worldwide box office collection; surpasses Uri, Fighter

With its current global standing, Border 2 has surged past the lifetime collections of several major patriotic blockbusters. It has successfully eclipsed the worldwide totals of Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike (Rs 342 crore) and Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter (Rs 344 crore).

Trade analysts now have their eyes on the Rs 400 crore milestone, which seems well within reach if the film maintains its hold through the coming week, despite facing competition from the newly released Mardaani 3.

Border 2: Story, cast and more

Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by the powerhouse team of Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta, the film is a tribute to the tri-service heroism of the 1971 war. The ensemble cast including Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, and Medha Rana has been widely praised for grounding the grand scale with emotional depth.

As the ‘Sunny Deol magic’ continues to dominate the ticket window, rumors of Border 3 are already circulating, though the makers are currently focused on the historic run of this installment. For now, Border 2 remains the undisputed king of the 2026 box office.
