Border 2 box office collection day 5: Sunny Deol‘s box office dominance is at its peak as Border 2 makes huge waves on the big screen. Striking a perfect balance between nostalgia and patriotism, Deol returns to his role in the Border franchise after nearly 3 decades. Fans are praising Ahan Shetty’s promising debut as well as Diljit Dosanjh’s power-packed performance.
The film in its first three days has registered remarkable numbers at the box office. Republic Day earnings touched close to Rs 60 crore mark. However, Border has witnessed a massive dip on Tuesday. Despite dipping below the Rs 20 crore mark, Border 2 has neared the Rs 200 crore benchmark after five days at the silver screen. Based on the 1971 Indo-Pak conflict, Border 2 also stars Varun Dhawan in one of the lead roles.
Border 2 collection day 5: Box office update
Debuting at Rs 30 crore, Border 2 beat the opening day record of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, the biggest Bollywood movie of 2025. Over the weekend, as reported by Sacnilk, Border 2 saw a rise of 21 per cent, taking the box office collection to Rs 36 crore.
Sunday came as a dream run with Rs 54.5 crore, taking the weekend collection beyond Rs 100 crore alone. Monday kept the momentum going at Rs 59 crore. However, Tuesday witnessed a massive decline as Border 2 box office collections touched Rs 19.5 crore. The overall gross is estimated at Rs 196.5 crore.
The occupancy rate has been reported at a healthy point as it touched 24.82 per cent across theatres. With over 3000 shows, big wins came from Delhi NCR, which filled 30 per cent seats across 1731 screenings. In fact, Mumbai was lower in comparison to the capital, with the occupancy rate of 23.75 per cent for 1109 shows.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, and Mona Singh in key roles. It marks Sunny Deol’s second-biggest film so far, as it races towards Gadar 2-like feat. However, it has become Varun Dhawan’s biggest film yet after Dilwale. Soon, as the day progresses, Border 2 will top the list for Diljit Dosanjh, too.
