Veteran actor Anupam Kher has started work on his 550th film, Khosla Ka Ghosla 2, marking a rare milestone in Indian cinema. The actor described the moment as the “interval point” of his life and career, reflecting on a journey that has spanned more than four decades.

‘Marathon man of Indian cinema’ moment at cannes

To share his thoughts, he took to Instagram and recalled an interaction with an international director at the Cannes Film Festival last year. When the director learned about the number of films Kher has acted in, he referred to the actor as the “marathon man of Indian cinema.” The comment stayed with Kher and became even more meaningful as he prepared to begin his 550th project.

A journey that began in Mumbai in 1981

Looking back, Kher said he never imagined reaching such a landmark when he first arrived in Mumbai on June 3, 1981. Calling the city the land of dreams, the actor shared how far he has come since those early days. Starting Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 in Delhi, he described the experience as emotional and deeply humbling.

The ‘interval point’ of his career

Despite completing 550 films, Kher believes he still has a lot more to offer. He said he sees this phase as only the midpoint of his life and career. The actor stressed that dreams have no expiry date and credited his optimism, determination, and ability to work hard as the strengths that have sustained him over the years.

Gratitude to the film industry and audiences

Kher also expressed sincere thanks to producers, directors, co-actors, and technicians who have supported him throughout his long career. He reserved special appreciation for audiences, saying their love and encouragement made it possible for him to reach this milestone.

Ending his message on a positive note, Kher reaffirmed his commitment to continue working with the same dedication and honesty in the years ahead. As he steps into what he calls the next “interval” of his journey, the actor remains grateful, hopeful, and eager for what the future holds.
