Dhurandhar 2 Movie Review: Dhurandhar, a critically acclaimed billion-dollar franchise, welcomed its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, earlier this month. While it remains banned in six Gulf countries, it has invited comments from across the world. Following up on his December review, Baloch leader Mir Yar shared his opinion on Dhurandhar 2.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mir Yar Baloch shared that he recently watched Dhurandhar 2. Calling the sequel ‘a slight improvement’, he took a dig at some aspects of the plot, but expressed gratitude towards bringing the ‘atrocities of Pakistan against Baloch’ to the mainstream media.

In the post from the Baloch representative, he wrote, “I got the opportunity to watch Dhurandhar: The Revenge Movie. There is a slight improvement in the second episode.”
In addition to this, it read, “The film’s researchers and director need to do more homework on the history of Balochistan, understand the Baloch culture and genuine relationship between Balochistan and Bharat.”
He went on to point out how freedom fighter Shirani’s [Shirani Ahmed Baloch] contribution towards Hamza was ‘not acknowledged’. Shirani Ahmed, played by Bimal Oberoi, appears as a central character in Hamza’s plot in Dhurandhar 2. Portrayed as the leader of the Baloch United Front (BUF) in the film, Shirani is depicted at the centre of the Balochistan liberation movement. Unaware of Hamza‘s Indian ties, he offers crucial support to carry out the plot.
Mir Yar Baloch also objected to the final plot twist about Uzair Baloch, brother of former Lyari leader, Rahman Dakait. However, in the end, the leader wrote, “We are thankful that the movie highlighted the atrocities of Pakistan against the Baloch nation in the Republic of Balochistan.”

These comments from Baloch are not the first comments they have made on Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. Released in December 2025, Mir Yar Baloch had previously blasted the makers for several elements. Sharing a clip of Arjun Rampal and Akshaye Khanna chanting ‘Allah O Akbar’ as a war-cry, the Baloch leader shared, “Baloch are not religiously motivated”, and they had never collaborated with ISI to harm Indian interests.
He had further added, “We too are the victims of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism,” and “The movie also did not do justice to Balochistan freedom fighters by showing them as if they had sold their weapons to anti-India elements.” He condemned the various stereotypes reinforced in the film, especially against the Baloch, about betrayals, loyalty, and friendship.
