The 2025 DFX OTT Awards were held in South Korea on Friday, November 28, as part of the 7th Daejeon Special FX Festival. Held at the ICC Hotel in Doryong-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon Metropolitan City, the ceremony was hosted by actor Oh Ji Ho and announcer Gong Seo Young. Last year’s winners Kim Dong Jun, Tae Won Seok, Kim Sun Bin and Lee Pil Mo were also in attendance as presenters.
As an extension of the only film festival in South Korea dedicated to honouring excellence across the special effects arena, the DFX OTT Awards took place on the same day as the 2025 MAMA Awards Chapter 1 in Hong Kong. While major K-pop and K-drama stars filled the Kai Tak Stadium overseas for the ‘Grammys of Asia,’ other creative talents stayed occupied with the 7th Daejeon Special FX Festival back home.
Park Bo Young and Bae Na Ra’s winning moments warm hearts
Beloved K-drama actress Park Bo Young emerged as the biggest winner of the day, as she took home the Grand Prize honour in the acting category. The awestruck talent was left overwhelmingly speechless as she was presented with the glistening trophy. Thanking her staff and Our Unwritten Seoul co-actors, she said that she would pay back those cheering her on with even more honourable performances in the future.
Bae Na Ra, who boasts a prominent theatre career under his belt, finally got his due for his recent breakout TV performance as well. The Korean heartthrob got his flowers at the event for his Tastefully Yours role.
As he stepped onto the stage to accept the honour, he emotionally revealed in his speech that the brand-new Excellence in Acting award in hand marked the first time he was receiving a trophy after having made his stage play / musical debut over 13-14 years ago.

Meanwhile, his Weak Hero 2 co-star Park Ji Hoon shared the Best Actor award of the night with Squid Game 2’s Yang Dong Geun.
