XLRI placements: Xavier School of Management Jamshedpur concluded its placement 2018 drive for its flagship programme, the 2-year Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) course. In a major achievement, the institute announced 100 per cent placement success! All 358 students have received offers from recruiters. As per the XLRI release, around 132 recruiters with 370 offers and 29 first time recruiters had participated in the recruitment process for the 2016-2018 batch. The average salary of the batch is Rs 20.1 lakh per annum, as per the report. While the median salary offered to the batch is Rs 21 lakh per annum.
Among the recruiters, PSUs like GAIL, IOCL and HPCL also participated along with first time recruiters such as National Housing Bank and India Health Action Trust, reported the Indian Express.
Prof Uday Damodaran, chairperson, Placements (PGDM Programmes), XLRI, was quoted as saying that this has been a good year for both summer as well as final recruitments. “We are extremely grateful to all the recruiters for showing belief in the XLRI brand and our students,” he said. While the Director of XLRI, E Abraham said, “We are happy to announce that this year’s placement season has witnessed a remarkable increase in both the number of offers and recruiters. Interest in XLRI’s students has been tremendous with top companies recruiting.”
Notably, summer placement reports at top B schools have shown positive trends recently. Last year, top Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs)- IIM Bangalore, IIM Lucknow and IIM Calcutta registered a 100 pct placement. Even government’s top planning body- NITI Aayog picked five students from the top management institution.
In 2016, the students of Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) at Noida campus were placed in topnotch companies like Mahindra, Tata Sustainability Group and KPMG. The institute also announced 100 per cent summer placements of its second batch of 19 students pursuing the Post Graduate Programme in Sustainable Management (PGPSM) last year.
