CBSE has asked all the schools that are affiliated to it to buy NCERT books online.
In a big relief to all parents as the Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry has made books by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) compulsory for all the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools from the next academic session 2017-18. This standard was set in a review meeting that was chaired by Union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar.
Now the educational expenses will be brought down and parents will no longer be forced to buy the expensive books by the private publishers that were earlier used by schools. The ministry has directed CBSE to tell the number of books that they will require by February 22 and NCERT has to make all textbooks available in adequate quantity by the end of March, 2017 as there have been several complaints in the past about the non-availability of books.
