Incident of paper leak at Modern Education Society’s College of Engineering has both the university administration and college authorities in a tizzy. On December 9, nearly an hour before the first-year engineering students were about to take a paper on Electrical Engineering, it came to notice of the faculty of the MES College that a few students had already accessed the exam paper on their mobile phones. The leak has upset students of first-year electrical engineering across all college campuses. The incident came to light as some students got the questions on their mobile phones a few minutes before the exam. A first-year engineering student of AISSMS engineering college was quoted as saying,“About 15 minutes prior to exam when the first bell went off, I got questions on my phone of which one was very tough, about the superposition theorem. For me, the paper was easy and I feel re-exam is not possible.” But the students who didn’t receive the questions before the exams feel ‘cheated’ as the leak benefited few students and said that the paper was tough and a re-exam should be conducted.

Most of the students are expecting a re-test and demanded clarity on the same soon. Another student of first-year engineering, Manpreet Singh Sahota, who hadn’t got the questions before exam, said, “Usually questions of previous years get repeated in the exams. But this was not the case this time and that’s why it was tough. I hope there is a re-exam.” On the other hand second year backlog students though hope there isn’t a re-examination for a paper that they have appeared for twice already, according to an Indian Express report.
