IIT Bombay placements 2017: In the latest placement season conducted at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay on June 30, a large number of students were recruited by companies from across profiles that included R&D, consulting, engineering among others. These interviews which were conducted in two phases show the high demand for the IIT Bombay students across all fields. About 305 companies took part in the pre placement process (PPO), reports PTI. Candidates on an average secured an average gross salary of Rs 11.41 lakh per annum. Among the major recruiters include Airbus Group, Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Google, Goldman Sachs, Intel, Microsoft, ONGC, Procter & Gamble, Samsung R&D, Texas Instruments, Tata Steel and Qualcomm, among others.
As the economy is constantly looking for high-end products and services, companies are now striving to develop products at the forefront of technology. As many as 32 Research and Development organisations offered 118 jobs this year. This year, near about 67 international offers were made from companies and students have accepted 59 pre-placement offers. During the internship season of 2016 – 17, around 1114 offers were made from over 650 organisation.
The internship and placement season had begun in July 2017 and IIT Bombay is the process of inviting companies for campus recruitment. Till September 13, about 110 students received pre-placement offers. Interviews for the first phase of campus placements will be conducted from December 1. Hiring for internship season 2017-18 had started from first week of August, said Indian Express report.
