As the world moves towards a future driven by Artificial Intelligence, the education sector is also changing in a big way. AI is now shaping how teachers teach and how students learn. Experts believe that because of this shift, there is a growing need for educators and graduates who are ready to adapt to this AI-powered era.

upEducators, a teacher training platform, has partnered with Google for Education to launch a special AI-readiness programme. Under this initiative, a series of virtual training workshops will be held in colleges across the country. The platform claims that the goal is to train 20,000 college faculty members and students in the latest AI tools, including Gemini and NotebookLM.

“AI is fundamentally changing the way we learn and build our careers. Educational institutions should prepare their faculty members and students not only to use AI, but also to innovate with it,” Ankush Bhandari, founder, upEducators said.

Interestingly, the platform claims that so far, the workshop has been conducted for more than 8,000 professors and students across over 100 well-known colleges.

These workshops are designed to help faculty members and students understand and use AI in practical ways. Participants get an introduction to AI in higher education and learn about emerging Google AI tools. They are taught how to apply AI in research, teaching, curriculum planning, and academic administration.

“This partnership with Google for Education aims to ensure that professors and students are confident, skilled, and ethical users of AI,” said Mr Ankush Bhandari, Founder of upEducators,” Bhandari explained.

The sessions also focus on building strong prompt-writing skills that can help in academic work, projects, and career preparation. Participants gain a clear understanding of the basics of machine learning and generative AI. They also learn how AI is affecting education, productivity, careers, and daily life.

This initiative supports higher education institutions in achieving the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, especially in areas related to technology integration and skill development. Principals, Heads of Departments, and academic administrators are encouraged to enrol their faculty members and students in this free AI training workshop and take a step forward in transforming education.
