Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has released the question papers for JEE Advanced 2026 on the official website. Students can now download the PDFs from jeeadv.ac.in under the “Important Announcements” section without entering their application number or date of birth.
The JEE Advanced 2026 examination was conducted on May 17 in two shifts. Paper 1 was held from 9 am to 12 noon, while Paper 2 took place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
According to students and teachers, Paper 1 was moderate to highly challenging. Mathematics was considered the longest and toughest section, while Physics tested deep conceptual understanding. Chemistry was described as tricky and difficult. Paper 2 was also termed highly conceptual and time-intensive, especially the Mathematics section, which many students found very tough, according to a report by The Indian Express.
JEE Advanced 2026: Paper 1 marking scheme explained
The Paper 1 pattern included 4 single-correct questions (SCQs), 4 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), 4 matrix-match questions, and 4 integer-type questions. There was no negative marking for integer-type questions, while MCQs, SCQs and matrix-match questions carried a penalty of -1 mark for incorrect answers.
Paper 2 consisted of 18 questions divided into two paragraphs. It included 4 single-correct questions carrying (+3, -1), 5 multiple-correct questions carrying (+4, -1), 5 integer-type questions carrying (+4, -1), and 4 paragraph-based questions carrying (+2, 0).
JEE Advanced 2026: Admit card and result dates
IIT Roorkee had released the admit cards for the examination on May 11. The admit cards included details such as the candidate’s exam centre, reporting time and documents required on the exam day.
