The Kejriwal Government allocated the highest budget for education among all state and central governments. In the fiscal year 2022-23, 21.1% of the aggregate expenditure was dedicated to education, exceeding the national average of 13.5%, according to Delhi’s Economic Survey.
The Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) and Net Enrollment Ratio (NER) for Senior Secondary classes in Delhi surpassed the national average. Additionally, the government allocated 16.17% of the total scheme expenditure to Public Health and Family Welfare, boasting a robust healthcare infrastructure.
In the realm of electricity consumption, Delhi witnessed an increase from 5653 MW in 2013-14 to 7695 MW in 2022-23. The Kejriwal Government’s initiatives reduced AT&C losses, and electricity bills generated numbered 3.41 crores in 2022-23.
Free water provision to households with metered connections benefited around 24.72 lakhs consumers. The government achieved significant progress in water supply, sewage treatment, and public transportation.
The economic survey highlighted Delhi’s GSDP, which reached Rs 10,14,000 crore in 2022-23, with a projected growth of 9.1% in 2023-24. The Per Capita Income increased from Rs 3,76,217 in 2021-22 to Rs 4,61,910 in 2023-24, reflecting a 22% rise in two years.
Delhi’s inflation rate was 2.81%, compared to the national rate of 5.6%, and the unemployment rate decreased from 6.3% in 2020-21 to 1.9% in 2022-23. Tax collection grew by 18%, and the city recorded a revenue surplus of 14,457 crores in 2022-23.
