The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a live webcast on February 13, 2026, to explain the modalities for conducting the Board Examination 2026 and the evaluation related changes being introduced this year. In its official circular dated February 11, 2026, the board stated that the examinations will be conducted from February 17 to April 10, 2026, for students from over 31,000 CBSE-affiliated schools in India and 26 countries abroad. CBSE also mentioned that around 46 lakh students are expected to appear for the exams at more than 8,074 examination centres in India and overseas.

CBSE said that it has introduced measures for examinations every year and has announced three important initiatives for the 2026 board exams, which will be explained in detail during the webcast.

Key changes announced for 2026

As per the CBSE circular, the three initiatives are:

1.     Second Board Examination in Class 10

2.     On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Class 12

3.     Division of question papers in Social Studies and Science for Class 10.

CBSE mentioned that conducting exams on such a large scale needs strong preparation and coordination across exam and evaluation centres. The circular highlights that “foolproof planning and successful execution at the examination and evaluation centres” is necessary. It has become essential to communicate the amended policies and new measures to everyone involved in the examination and evaluation process.
