IRCTC train ticket booking on Google Pay! Now book Indian Railways tickets on Tez app; step-by-step guide

The IRCTC ticket booking feature on the Google Pay app allows the users to search, book or cancel train tickets in the mobile app itself. Additionally, the feature also allows the users to check journey duration, seat availability as well as travel time.

Google Pay has recently added the feature to book train tickets.

IRCTC train tickets on Google Pay: Now, book your Indian Railways train tickets hassle-free through Google Pay! The UPI-based payments app, Google Pay has recently added the feature to book train tickets, powered by the e-ticketing and catering arm of Indian Railways, IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation). The IRCTC ticket booking feature on the Google Pay app allows the users to search, book or cancel train tickets in the mobile app itself. Additionally, the feature also allows the users to check journey duration, seat availability as well as travel time. Interestingly, the feature is available on both Android and iOS. If you are still wondering how to book train tickets on Google Pay mobile app, then follow the guidelines below:

  • Go to the Google Pay app and click on the ‘Trains’ option under the businesses category
  • Now, click on ‘Book train tickets’
  • Enter the origin and destination railway stations, followed by departure date and quota
  • Now, the list of trains will be displayed; you can check the availability of the train of your choice
  • After choosing the train, you will get the trip details
  • To proceed for booking, enter your IRCTC user ID
  • Enter passenger details including name, age, gender, berth preference, nationality
  • You can also add more passengers or infant
  • Enter your mobile number
  • Optional choices of preferences and GST details are also available
  • Now click on continue to proceed further
  • Review your trip details before you proceed to make the payment
  • Click on continue and make the payment by entering your UPI PIN
  • Now, enter your IRCTC password as well as Captcha and click on submit to book your tickets

Earlier launched as Tez in India, Google Pay allows users to send money to friends, pay bills, recharge phone, online shopping or pay at the nearby café. The payment system works with the existing bank account, which means that the user’s money is safe with his/her bank. Also, there is no need to do additional KYC and worry about reloading wallets.
