Dense fog hits flight operations at Chennai airport

Poor visibility due to heavy fog affected flight operations today at the airport here for about three hours, officials said.

Operations were affected between 5.45 a.m and 8.45 a.m, airport officials said. As many as eight arriving flights, both domestic and international, were diverted to Bengaluru and Hyderabad, officials said. Further, 14 departing flights to destinations including Mumbai and Port Blair suffered delays, officials said. By around 8.45 AM, flight operations resumed, they added.
