Wipro has restructured operations at its largest business vertical — BFSI — by creating two geographical units as it looks to be attuned to market requirements. The company has appointed two new executives for this purpose.
According to a statement issued by Wipro, “Under this structure, while Angan Arun Guha, vice-president will lead the vertical in North America, Australia, India, Middle East & Emerging Markets, Shailendra Singh, who heads Wipro’s operations in South Africa, will lead the BFSI vertical in Europe & South Africa.”
Both these executives will report to Shaji Farooq, chief executive and global head – BFSI, Wipro. These changes will be effective April 1, a time when the company will be inducting its new chief operating officer: Abid Ali Neemuchwala.
These changes have occurred following the appointment of Rajan Kohli as head of the digital business. Kohli was previously the head of banking and financial services. The BFSI segment accounted for 25.7% of Wipro’s revenues at the end of the third quarter of FY15. It recorded annual growth of 4%.
