Vodafone to hire over 130 management trainees in ‘15

Vodafone, the country’s second largest telco by market share, on Monday said it will hire over 130 management trainees in 2015 for positions across verticals like business to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C) services and technology and financial services like M-Pesa.

The hiring is part of the company’s Discover Campus Programme — a cadre programme designed for grooming business leaders of tomorrow, the company said in a statement. Vodafone’s Discover programme is a 12-month development initiative wherein prospective leaders undergo job stints in different functions and markets depending upon their abilities and a predetermined path that ensures block building experience playing different roles.

“Since the launch in 2010, Vodafone has hired 292 fresh talents through the Discover Programme from more than 20 top-ranked B-Schools and T-Schools in India such as the IIM’s , XLRI, MDI, SIBM, IIFT, JBIMS, SCMHRD, SP Jain, FMS and NMIMS among others,” the statement added.

Vodafone India’s director, human resources, Ashok Ramchandran, said, “Vodafone’s Discover Campus Programme is designed to identify and groom young leaders for bigger roles in the future.”
