Twenty-two changes, yet nothing new

This week, Nissan India launched a facelift of the Terrano SUV. “We have introduced 22 brand new features in the Terrano to strengthen its smarter and bolder appeal to customers,” the company said in a statement.

The changes include a dual-tone interior colour scheme, cruise control, touchscreen navigation system, steering-mounted controls, anti-pinch driver-side window, new steering wheel design, among others.

All these changes are welcome, considering the fact that the company has not raised the prices of its best-selling SUV. However, into the mid of its life, the Terrano needed much more than these incremental changes—for example, it needed an all-wheel drive option and changes to the exterior. A facelift should at least lift the face.
