Cypher 2015 was launched on 12th Sept 2015 as Analytics India Magazine’s annual Summit. Analytics India Magazine has been instrumental in evangelizing Analytics & Data Science in India since last 3 years. Analytics India Magazine (AIM) was founded by Bhasker Gupta an IIT, IIM aluminous, who holds more than a decade experience in the industry.
It caters to the growing demand of Analytics in todays Industry. It is an excellent platform to share and showcase the growing Analytics Industry in India. Bhasker Gupta, founder of Analytics India Magazine shared his thoughts regarding this event. He said, “We realized that there is a dearth of quality conferences around Analytics in India. India being at the forefront of the Analytics wave needed a platform where industry leaders, professionals and various organizations can come together to exchange ideas. We took this initiative with the first edition of Cypher. The success of this event has motivated us to bring back Cypher again next year at a much larger scale.”
Analytics is no more a buzzword, rather a need for the hour for every organization. Cypher 2015 provided the platform to Network, explore and showcase to the best in Analytics industry.
It brought together the decision makers, data scientists, architects etc. In spite of it being the maiden year of the event, it witnessed tremendous response from the industry. It witnessed over 400 participants from over 150 companies, representing Analytics industry in India.

The Event showcased interesting topics and thoughts from the business leaders from Indian Industry. It provided a platform that brought together the Analytics Industry together, ranging from the top B schools offering Analytics courses to the Top most industry veterans evangelizing analytics. It provided a perfect mix of audience from the newbies in the industry to the experienced leaders from the industry.
It showcased 3 tracks – conference, Workshops and exhibition. There were several Interesting talks hosted including the data visualizations session by Anand S(Chief Data Scientist at Gramener), Shrikanth Jagannathan (Bangalore Chapter Leader at DataKind) on “Data Science for good”, Bappaditya Mukhopadhyay (Program Co-Director, PGP in Business Analytics at Great Lakes Institute of Management) which received tremendous response. Industry leaders shared their views on key trends in Analytics, bringing up some interesting insights. One of the key issues, which the industry faces, is adapting to analytics. An intriguing panel discussion brought forth the key challenges in Analytics adaption, with some interesting question and answer session.
