Three years of Narendra Modi government updates: PM Narendra Modi-led NDA government  completed three years in office on Friday and the Prime Minister celebrated the occasion by gifting India its longest bridge. PM Modi inaugurated the Dhola-Sadiya Bridge in Assam before addressing a rally at the Khanapara Veterinary ground in Guwahati. PM highlighted the achievements of his government and may cite examples of welfare schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Mudra Yojna, Start up. BJP chief Amit Shah also addressed media later in the day. Meanwhile, Congress held a series of press conferences throughout the day to continue its attack on the Modi government. It had alleged that distraction, propaganda, falsification of facts, intolerance and insulting political opponents and questioning the wisdom of intellectuals has been the hallmark of the BJP-led NDA government.

7.00 pm: “Our countrymen have walked with us, they strengthened our fight confidence, (Ye desh, deshwaasi har kadam par humare saath chalein hain, kade se kade faisle humne liye, deshwasiyon ne vishwas ko aur mazboot banaya,)” PM Modi said.

6.45 pm: “Ready to pay any price for the sake of well being of 1.25 crore countrymen,” Modi said.

6.32 pm: “People became a part of administration in these three years, peole came forward and LPG subsidy themselves,” Modi said

6.30 pm: “When I came to power three years ago, is spoke about cleanliness, I spoke about toilets, people were stunned. They said what kind of PM is this,” Modi said.

6.24 pm: “I want to thank people of this country by bottom of my heart, people gave me mandate and showed confidence in me,” PM Narendra Modi says on three years of his government.

5.30 pm: Amit Shah, in a conversation with news agency PTI, has said that BS Yeddyurappa will be party’s cm face in Karnataka.

5.06 pm: On the ocassion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched SAMPADA scheme. “There are immense possibilities for agro product valuation and the Rs 6,000 crore SAMPADA (Scheme for Agro-Marine Processing and Development of Agro-Processing) will go a long way in developing food processing industry and creating employment opportunities for the youth,” he said.

4:50 pm: Opposition National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has said it would be petty to deny the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his three year’s at the helm but Jammu and Kashmir remains a “dark blot”. “PM Modi has many achievements to boast of after 3 years and it would be petty to deny them but J&K remains a dark blot that’s getting darker,” Omar wrote on Twitter.

4:45 pm: All India Mahila Congress chief Shobha Oza has slammed the three-year rule of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government, saying it was a reign of ‘broken promises’ and ‘shattered dreams. She accused the Centre of spending Rs 2000 crore to celebrate its third anniversary to cover up “hollow” promises.

4:27 pm: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Cabinet colleagues on completion of three years in office. “I can tell that maximum people admit that the country is secure under the leadership of Modi,” the Jharkhand chief minister said.

4:24 pm: Compared to the previous UPA government which was “steeped in corruption”, the NDA dispensation has delivered graft-free governance, which is its “most outstanding” achievement, the BJP today said.

4:22 pm: On political front, Shah said, “We have succeeded in bringing multifold change in the national politics. The UP elections have underlined it. We have virtually finished casteism, family rule and appeasement,” he said.

4:18 pm: Asked if he saw the Congress or the regional parties as the bigger threat in 2019, he said, “Elections are still two years away and any (opposition) party can be a threat in the next elections. But I am sure we will substantially increase our numbers.”

4:15 pm: Amit Shah said today his party will notch up a bigger victory in the next Lok Sabha polls than the 2014 elections, asserting that India will emerge as a “great nation” in various fields under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

3:12 pm: Urban Development and Housing Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu will review progress of new urban missions launched during the last three years in Chhattisgarh, in a high level meeting in Raipur on Friday.

3:10 pm: Nath claimed that only 1.35 lakh jobs were created in 2015 and by 2028, the country needs 34 crore jobs. “How will jobs be created, by slogans?,” he asked, adding that the prime minister promised 2 crore jobs “but what is the outcome?”. He said the employment is at a 15 year low and alleged that BJP is spending Rs 2000 crore on “Modi Fest”.

2:00 pm: Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani said the programmes to mark the occasion will mainly be around the MODI fest and to propagate the message that the NDA Government and the BJP stand for Sabka Saath,Sabka Vikas. The third anniversary celebrations of the BJP-led NDA Government will be centered around Prime Minister Modi, with a Making of Developed India (MODI) festival.

1:35 pm: Bharatiya Janata Party supporters celebrated three years of the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government at the Centre in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal.

12:43 pm: Activists of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) will stage a protest outside the headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here this evening. An IYC statement said on Friday that the protest “Jawab Do, Hisab Do” (Give Answers, Be Accountable) would take place from 4.15 p.m.

11:40 am: In the tourism sector, the graphic says India has seen “rapid strides”. According to the graphic, the WEF’s travel and tourism ranking of India has moved from 65th position in 2014 to 40. In the field of solar power, it said India has taken a giant leap in generation.

11:37 am: The solar power installed capacity now stands at 12277 mw against 2621 mw in March 2014. Inviting the public to participate in a survey, Modi put two questions — “What do you feel about the Govt? Where have we done well & where can we do even better.”

11:30 am: According to the graphic, the investments in this sector have jumped to Rs 1,43,000 crore from Rs 11,198 crore in 2013 -14. Under the title ‘Digital India for Developed India’, the graphic says that optical fibre broadband network has increased to 2,05,404 kms from 358 kms in 2013-14.
