In the US, mobile users check their phones nearly 47 times every day, according to a survey conducted by Deloitte, giving opportunities for microorganisms to move from fingers to handsets. The study has varied on how much germs are transferred from hands to mobile phones on an average. However, a recent research has found that phones of high school students contain more than 17,000 bacterial genes. Researchers from Arizona University have found that mobile phones carry more germs than toilet seats, Time report added.
In 2015, another study was carried out by University of Southern California professor Dr. William DePaolo. As per thenewsminute.com report, his team collected swabs from the mobile screens of employees of a company to find out bacteria as compared to a toilet seat. Doing their research, the team found that even as toilet had around 3 species of bacteria, mobiles had an average 10-12 species of bacteria. Mobile screens also had worst kinds of bacteria like including E. coli and faecal bacteria, thenewsminute.com report added further.
