Start praying immediately if you wish to be among the few lucky buyers of the next Xiaomi smartphone. The Chinese smartphone maker has launched its Redmi Note smartphone in India at a price of Rs 8,999.

There is also a 4G version of the phablet which will be available only at Airtel flagship stores in six cities where the LTe service has been rolled out. These stores will have dedicated Mi zones for people to experience the phone. However, even those who want to buy these phones will have to register online with Airtel or Flipkart. Those who have registered will get a date on which they can pick up the phone from the store.  These customers will get a new USIM from Airtel. This version is priced Rs 9,999.

The phone is powered by an octa-core MTK 6592 1.7GHz processor from MediaTek. It has a 5.5-inch HD IPS display that will draw power from a 3,100 mAh lithium-polymer battery. The Redmi Note mounts a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera for sefie-holics.
