The MIUI 9 ROM update is available for Xiaomi Mi MIX, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Redmi 4 and Redmi 4X. Moreover, smartphones like Redmi 4 with Qualcomm chipset, Redmi 4X and Xiaomi Mi 6 were part of the first batch to receive the Beta version. Xiaomi is currently testing its MIUI operating system with the new changes to ensure that everything is optimised of the vast line-up of devices. According to the blog post, Xiaomi pointed out that the recommendation rate’ for MIUI 9 update stands at a staggering 94.62 percent in a poll conducted. For the uninitiated, MIUI is a heavily customised version of Android that Xiaomi uses in all its smartphones and MIUI 9 is the latest version based on Android Nougat 7.0.

The report goes ahead to state that Xiaomi is likely to launch its much awaited Mi Mix 2 smartphone on September 12. The market is flooded with speculations and estimates that whether the Chinese smartphone maker will be able to steal the spotlight from Apple on its D day.
However, several experts also believe that the Mi Mix 2 surely has something extraordinary and that is why the company has decided to announce the launch date to clash with Apple. It will be interesting to see how these two arch-rivals will attract customers with their flagships.
