Chinese company Xiaomi is likely to announce the latest version of Mi Mix 2, which is expected to be called the Mi Mix 2S. As per a leak that first appeared on the Chinese social media site Weibo, the company is planning to bring the handset in the market sooner than expected. It is also speculated that the Mi Mix 2S is likely to be announced ahead of the annual Mobile World Congress next month. The company did a good job with Mi Mix 2 in 2017. The company is also not changing the design language of the set. This is as per a Slashleaks report. The image suggests a phone similar to the Mi Mix 2, apart from a few notable design changes.

For example, the front camera on the smartphone is on the top right side. Since the front camera is now placed on the top, the bottom bezel looks narrower. In the rear of the phone, there is a single camera lens, a ceramic body and a fingerprint sensor. Even as not much is known about Mi Mix 2S, but it is likely to feature top-notch internals. The current Mi Mix 2 set was launched last year in October in India. It costs Rs 32,999 in the country. If there’s something users may not be happy about this phone, it has to be its cameras. The latest leak has claimed that the upcoming Mi Mix 2s will feature a single camera on the rear and not a dual camera setup.

In upcoming days, perhaps more can be learned about Mi Mix 2S. Apart from Mi Mix 2S, the other mobile that the company is expected to launch is Mi 7, the successor to the Mi 6, at the MWC 2018 in February. This smartphone is considered to be the company’s costliest till date, with the base model believed to cost upwards of 3,000 Yuan (or approx Rs 30,202). This smartphone is likely to feature a 6-inch OLED bezel-less display, metal a Snapdragon 845 processor, and a premium design.
