Xiaomi’s latest device, the Mi Max 2 is set for launch today. The phablet by the Chinese company will be unveiled at an event today at 2 pm CST (11:30 am IST). Xiaomi Mi Max 2 comes after the success of the Xiaomi Mi Max which was launched in 2016. The earlier device featured a big 6.44-inch display. Users can follow all the latest announcements on the Xiaomi’s official forum. According to various rumours, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will feature 4GB of RAM with Snapdragon 626 SoC model, and another variant will have 6GB of RAM and Snapdragon 660 SoC.
Various leaks and rumours have already provided what the smartphone may feature. According to leaked reports, the basic model of Mi Max 2 will expectedly be priced at CNY 1,499 (around Rs 14,000), while the higher variant could be priced at CNY 1,699 (around Rs 15,900). Xiaomi, in 2016, had claimed that it had shipped 1.5 million units of the first Mi Max smartphone in the two months since its launch in China.
In other specifications, the new Mi Max 2 could come with a 6.44-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display and 12-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX378 sensor. The Mi Max2 may contain a 5-megapixel front camera. Similar to the Mi Max phone, Mi Max 2 may launch in other countries than China as well. The Chinese manufacturer could introduce a 128GB storage variant of the Mi Max 2 too.
As far as the build is concerned, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 could sport an all-metal body with round edges. At the rear end, there will be a camera module and a fingerprint sensor. Other than all these, the smartphone is also said to come with a 3.5mm audio jack. Meanwhile, according to other leaks, it has been suggested that the phablet will come with a Sony IMX378 sensor for the rear camera. The rear camera may also be capable of shooting videos at 4K resolution. The Mi Max 2 could be running the Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
