The much anticipated Xiaomi Mi 5’s price has been cut down by Rs 2,000 in India. The smartphone is now available at Rs 22,999 as compared to its original launch price of Rs,24,999. Xiaomi India’s head Manu Jain informed the public of this change of price via a tweet. The phone is currently priced at Rs 22,999 on Amazon, whereas Flipkart and other vendors are yet to reflect this change in price. The Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with Dual sim slots unlike its predecessor Mi 4 and features a 5.15-inch HD display with 1080×1920 pixels. The display also has 3D ceramic glasses and a pixel density of 428ppi. The smartphone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor complemented by the Adreno 530 GPU. It has a rear camera of 16- megapixel and a Sony IMX298 sensor with Phase detection Autofocus (PDAF). It also sports a LED flash.
The camera also has a 4-axis Optical image stabilisation (OIS) and sapphire glass lens for protection and supports 4K video recording. the front camera comes with 4-megapixels and 2-micron pixels. Both camera sport an aperture of f/2.0. The phone weighs in at 129gms and has dimensions of 44.5×69.2×7.25mm. It packs a good battery of 3000mAh and works on Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The tech giant Xiaomi has said that the Quick Charge 3.0 is at least 20% faster than its predecessor. The phone also boasts of a USB Type-C port. In matters of connectivity, the phone has a VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GLONASS and NFC. It also supports a 4G connection.
Although, it is to be seen when the other vendors reduce the price of the product as per the company’s instructions. Also, the flash sale formula makes it a little difficult for the customers to buy the phone.
