Xiaomi has launched its Mi Exchange program in India. Now users will be able to exchange their old smartphones in order to buy a new Xiaomi device. Xiaomi has partnered with Cashify to bring the Mi Exchange program in the country and is designed specifically for the market. The Xiaomi Mi Exchange program is aimed at users who wish to get rid of their old devices while purchasing a new one. In order to avail the Mi Exchange offer, users will have to visit any one of the company’s stores called as Mi Home. When a user visits the store, the Cashify team will inspect the old smartphone and suggest the estimated price. This amount will be based on the condition of the device. Users will be able to use this cost against the price of a new Xiaomi Redmi or Mi mobile.
It should be noted that the Xiaomi Mi Exchange program also comes with certain terms and conditions. The first thing is to make sure that the device you wish to exchange should be present in the list of phones in Cashify’s portfolio. It is also important to note that users can exchange only one phone at a time. The resale value proposed by the Cashify team is based on an inbuilt application and there is no chance of negotiations. Once the amount is declared, Cashify will provide an e-receipt against the old device. Once the exchange process is completed, there is no option for any further changes. Cashify also offers a pickup service for the old device, but the buyer will have to pay the full amount initially while buying at the Mi Home store. After this, Cashify will send an executive at a decided time to collect the smartphone from your address.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has informed that the process is not controlled by the company and the issues are dealt with Cashify itself. Interested buyers will be able to avail the exchange offer at Xiaomi Mi Home across India. Xiaomi has a dozen Mi Home stores in many big cities in the country. In the next two years, the company has planned to open more than 100 Mi Homes across the country.
Xiaomi has become a big brand in Indian smartphone market and is giving a hard time to tech giant Samsung. Based on an International Data Corporation (IDC) report, Samsung enjoys 23.5 percent smartphone market share in the country, and so does Xiaomi. While Samsung has been an undisputed champion in India for a long time, Xiaomi has managed to counter it in a matter of only a few months.
