WhatsApp has made another new addition to its long list of recently rolled-out features. The Facebook-owned messaging app has now enabled the tagging feature for its users. Now, users can tag a particular contact in a group, just like it works on Facebook and Twitter. The new feature works on Android and iOS, but not on the desktop app. The users have to simply enter the ‘@’ symbol, followed by name of the person they wish to tag. After typing ‘@’, a user can choose a contact from the menu that pops up. Multiple contacts can be tagged in a single message. In a similar feature, WhatsApp had enabled quoting of messages in group chats to make it clear what a user is responding to. The app also expanded group sizes from 100 to 256 users. With this new tagging feature, the Facebook-owned messaging service has made it easier to keep the conversation alive with multiple contacts. WhatsApp has rolled out a host of new features for Android and iOS users recently.
The messaging app also launched the latest feature resembling Snapchat, making it possible for the users to scribble, write and add emojis on photographs. Besides this, the app also rolled out a ‘flash for selfies’ feature which makes it possible to click selfies with flash light for the phones which come with a flash in front cameras. The company has also introduced a new editing tool feature will give users the ability to click pictures with the app camera and then write, add emojis and crop on the photos. This feature was first seen on the Android Beta version of the app. A lot of new stickers and emojis have been introduced in the platform.
