Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ were launched at the mega event on February 25 in Barcelona ahead of the official commencement of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. The new Galaxy S9 smartphones come with significant features, with the cameras in focus this time. Samsung announced at the event that the pre-booking of Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will begin just a day after the launch. Now, Samsung has opened the pre-booking for both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in India, along with other markets.
How to pre-order Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ pre-orders are now live on the Samsung online store as well as offline stores in India. The interested customers can visit the online store and make an upfront payment of Rs 2,000 to join the list of the customers that will get the new Galaxy S9 smartphones first after they debut in the country.
Pre-ordering a Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will require a buyer to enter their personal details including name, address, email address, and mobile number. At the time of pre-ordering, customers will get notified via SMS and email from Samsung congratulating the buyer for pre-ordering the device. However, the buyer will need to pay Rs 2,000 as booking amount to Samsung. This amount will be adjusted against the total cost of the smartphone at the time of booking. Samsung will remind the buyers the remaining amount that needs to be paid to finally order the device, however, failing to do so will make the order cancelled and the booking amount of Rs 2,000 will be refunded within 7 working days.
Besides, the buyers can also visit Samsung offline stores to make the pre-order for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. All the pre-ordering conditions remain same for the offline channel where the buyers will have pay Rs 2,000 at the time of pre-ordering. You’ll be required to first register themselves at the outlets via dedicated apps installed in them.
Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ India Price
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ were launched at respective prices of $719.99 and $839.99 in the US. Both these price points roughly translate to the Indian currency equivalents of Rs 46,500 and Rs 54,500 for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, respectively. Samsung is expected to launch the new Galaxy S9 smartphones next month at the time when the global shipping begins. This is also when Samsung will reveal the India pricing of both the smartphones. Interestingly, Flipkart has already listed the smartphone on its e-commerce website, indicating a launch to happen soon.
Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ Specifications
The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S9 include a 5.8-inch Quad-HD+ Super AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, bears a 6.2-inch Quad-HD+ Super AMOLED 18.5:9 display. Both the smartphones are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, however, for the markets outside the US and China, Samsung will sell the Exynos 9810 chipset in the Galaxy S9 smartphones. The Galaxy S9 comes with 4GB of RAM while the Galaxy S9+ has 6GB of RAM. Both the devices will come in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage models with support for storage expandability via microSD cards up to 400GB. The Galaxy S9 has a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual apertures – f/1.5 and f/2.4. The Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, has two cameras at the back, one of which has same apertures – f/1.5 and f/2.4 – as the Galaxy S9 camera and the other camera has just the f/2.4 aperture. The battery on the Galaxy S9 is 3000mAh while there is a 3500mAh battery in the Galaxy S9+.
