Google has rolled out a new trick on Twitter. Now you can tweet an emoji to Google and it will totally understand it. All you need to do is tweet @Google its official Twitter account with an emoji and the handle will reply to you with a funny GIF and a link to local search results. The intelligent design is great fun and very interesting. Imagine tweeting your friend with a noodles emoji and expecting him/her to understand that you are hungry and wish to go to probably a Chinese restaurant nearby. But can you expect a tech website to understand all of that and return with results on nearby restaurants? But yes, Google understands you.
According to Google, the emoji tweet feature will be working with more than 200 kinds of emoji which includes websites, food and events present near the user. The company has also promised a few ‘easter eggs’, Mashable reported. It remains to be seen totally, what emojis function as what and what results they generate. For that, we need to try as many as we can. The tweets by Google have the hashtag KnowNearby which suggests that the company is trying to increase the popularity of local search results.

There are many fun things attached to the emojis, which includes a response by Google, which says ‘Bootylicious’ when tweeted with the peach emoji. We need to find out what Google responds to a range of other emojis like the poop sign or maybe the cow emoji. For India, recently after the demonetisation move by the government, Google added the find ATM feature, which suggested nearby places where ATMs are present. The option places just under the search bar have been very helpful, apart from the fact that it did not show whether the ATMs were in a working condition or not.
