Much on the lines of Facebook and Google, Truecaller, the mobile caller ID search platform, launched a new software development kit (SDK) that lets third-party apps sign up new users with their existing Truecaller profile and associated verified phone number. This service is free for both the developers and the users and is available on Andriod only for now.
The company announced that the TrueSDK was light weight with less than 25kb. The trucallers used the SDK to recognise the user credentials to log in to third-party apps and verify their phone numbers, saving them time.
The company has partnered startups like Quikr, Mobikwik, redBus, CarDekho, BharatMatrimony.com, Ixigo, Oyo Rooms, FreshMenu,Terraa and ShopClues.
Commenting about the development, Priyam Bose, director (Worldwide Developer Relations) at Truecaller, said, “App developers are looking for ways to minimise friction in user onboarding and engagement flows. TrueSDK gives developers an opportunity ti fulfill these need and bridge offline and online identity gap. Instead of having every app developer build and maintain their own systems, they can now use TrueSDK and instead focus more on their core aspects of their app-led offering.”
