Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is currently one of the most anticipated devices in the mid-budget segment. Rumours and speculations regarding the device have been doing the rounds for quite some time now. Xiaomi, however, has not revealed anything officially. Nevertheless, an alleged image of the device has reportedly come up online on popular Chinese portal Weibo. The picture that has been leaked also features a specification sheet posted on the display of the phone. The photo of an apparent Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is in line with most of the rumours and leaks that have recently been surfacing on the internet.
A first look at the Redmi Note 5 image shows that the device appears to come in the now popular 18:9 aspect ratio display. The specification sheet on the device screen reveals that the phone will come with a huge 5.99-inch display. The sheet also shows that the alleged Redmi Note 5 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. In terms of storage, the phone could come with 64GB internal memory. The image also suggests that there will be a 12MP camera at the rear end. The Redmi Note 5 is expected to run on the Android 7.1.2 and fueled by a 4,000 mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 phone seems to be a device with minimum bezels. Since it will be an almost full-screen phone, the fingerprint scanner can be expected to come at the back end. The image also shows a front camera but its capability hasn’t been revealed yet.
Recently, the new Xiaomi phone was reportedly seen listed on a famous Chinese e-commerce website. The phone was posted for a small amount of time, but it has given us an idea of what the Redmi Note 5 could be priced at.
Just recently, the Redmi Note 5 was spotted at a popular Chinese online retailer that listed the device for a brief time, giving buyers an idea about the device’s price tag if nothing else. The price tag of CNY 8,888 (roughly Rs 88,000). However, this is just a gimmick according to GizmoChina as the number 8 is considered lucky in the Chinese culture. The real price of the phone is speculated to be around CNY 1,200 (roughly Rs 12,000).
While the listings did not explicitly mention the model name, the Redmi 5A and Redmi 5A Prime had already been announced, so all hints pointed out at the much-awaited Note 5. The website called JD.com showed that the phone’s price is going to be $199, which means that the device may come to India priced around Rs 12,000 to Rs 13,000.
