With more and more people buying touchscreen mobiles, the demand for budget smartphones is growing with time. Swipe Konnect Me is one of such attempt to make room in the arena of low budget smartphones.

I have my hands on it for at least a week and the phone has some good features.

Screen: The phone is equipped with 4.5 inch IPS screen and the touch is normal. Though, low screen resolution is a negative point.

Memory: The phone promises 8GB internal memory, but the total internal memory available in the phone is just 6 GB. Out of this only 4 GB is free for use. This is a pain point for sure. Thankfully, the memory is expandable up to 32 GB.

Ram and Processor: With one GB RAM and 32-bit MT6572 processor clocking in at 1.3 Ghz, the phone ran well and games like Candy crush, Temple run worked smoothly.

Camera: This may be an unfavorable feature for the phone as the 5MP camera was not up to the mark. The pictures were good under the sun, but low light pictures, even with the flash on, were far from clear. The 1.3 mp front camera is not any better.

Battery: The 2450 mAh battery keeps this phone alive as it does not drain quickly. With gaming, internet and calls, the phone lasts at least for 15 to 17 hours.

Contacts storage: Unlike latest androids, the phone gives you the choice to save contacts either in phone or in SIM memory.

Design: Swipe has embeded the power and the volume buttons on the same sides which is a little confusing. If there were some gap between the two, that would be better. The phone weighs 91 gram and is easy to operate with one hand. The dual SIM phone has 3G connectivity enabled on both slots. SIM 1 slot supports GSM as well as CDMA sim cards and Sim 2 slot only supports GSM. The micro USB charging port and earphone jack is on the top side of the phone. Every time you want to make any changes in SIM slots or TF cards, you have to take out the battery.

What else? The phone is pre-loaded with many apps like Clean master, ask me.com, Xender, Quikr, MX Player, Battery doctor and CM browser. Better to leave this choice to the user, unless Swipe is convinced that its consumers might not be net connected.

Verdict: At a price point as low as Rs 3,999, Swipe Konnect Me is a decent choice. The phone justifies its low budget tag and seems to have the singular goal of connecting more people. If the camera doesn’t matters much for you, Swipe Konnect me is a decent choice.
