Samsung Galaxy X is finally witnessing a lot of buzz lately as the hugely anticipated smartphone is expected to launch soon. The Galaxy X, as it has been speculated to be called, will be a foldable display mobile. The Samsung device has reportedly been certified in South Korea. According to Let’sGoDigital, a filing in the Korean National Radio Research Agency (NRRA) has shown a new model number SM-G888N0. The NRRA listed the phone as a ‘radio equipment for global LTE communication. However, the same thing was posted as a ‘smartphone’ when it was first spotted at the WiFi Alliance, according to Forbes.
While a lot of new smartphones were launched in 2017, the main focus seemed to be either on the camera (dual camera setup) or wireless charging. A few companies also brought the facial recognition features. However, with all the reports coming in, the year 2018 will probably be the year of bendable display screens. It is interesting to note that, this is not the first time we are talking about a Samsung device with bendable panels. The electronics giant had shown off a flexible screen prototype called Youm in the year 2013. Meanwhile, the NRRA report does not reveal a lot of things regarding the upcoming Galaxy X. But, Koh Dong-jin, the company’s mobile chief, had recently said that the next Samsung Galaxy Note will come in 2018, and with a bendable display.
It has been reported that Samsung might be facing technical issues when it comes to these kinds of screen hardware. Koh has also said that if the challenges are not overcome soon, the release date of the Samsung Galaxy device might have to be pushed further back.

Meanwhile, not much is known about the Samsung Galaxy X, when it comes to other features and specifications. If we look at the patent filings and concept models, the new smartphones seem to be a flexible device and a tablet hybrid. We also do not know much about the name, but ‘Galaxy X’ seems to be the popular consensus as of now. However, the code name of the device was ‘Project Valley’.
When it comes to the price of Samsung Galaxy X, there is not much clarity on that. However, since it appears to be Samsung next big flagship launch with more new features, the device could be priced above the Galaxy Note 8. And now that Apple has broken the $1000 and $1200 price barrier with the iPhone X, it will be interesting to see if Samsung too will follow suit.
