Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphone duo will be launched on February 26, which is expected to coincide with MWC 2018 event dates
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have already grabbed a thousand eyeballs before their unveiling, which was confirmed to be in February around Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. While the launch date is anticipated to be during the MWC, Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphones are expected to start being available a month later. However, the exact dates have now been revealed along with pre-order and shipping dates, thanks to the renowned tipster Evan Blass. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are now said to be launched on February 26, and the smartphones will be available for pre-orders on March 1, followed by the March 16 shipping date.
Blass on Twitter shared the new information on the Samsung’s most-anticipated flagship smartphones – Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. According to his post, ‘a C-level executive at a major case-maker’ shared the details with him about the proposed launch, pre-order, and shipping dates for the smartphones. As we mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphone duo will be launched on February 26, which is expected to coincide with MWC event dates. Samsung is making no delay as it has been reported to start the pre-orders for the flagships in just four days post the launch – March 1. The Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphones are expected to hit the shelves on March 16. However, Samsung may or may not launch the devices in India in the first wave. Going by the previous notions, the devices could be launched in India a few days after the MWC launch.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have been again and again leaked on the Internet, revealing the specifications, features, and design in abundance. The smartphone was recently spotted on US FCC listing that revealed the devices will support US cellular bands and pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. However, Samsung will offer its Exynos processors outside the US. Another listing spotted on a Brazilian telecommunication regulator website ANATEL suggested that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will pack batteries similar to the ones found in the predecessor smartphones – Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.
Earlier, the Samsung Galaxy S9 specifications were spotted in a massive retail box leak that revealed ample information about Samsung’s devices. According to the leaked details, Samsung Galaxy S9 could bear a single rear camera while the bigger variant Galaxy S9+ is said to come with ‘Super Speed Dual Pixel’ dual cameras with f/1.5 and f/2.4 apertures. The smartphone will support Super Slo-mo videos and an 8-megapixel autofocus front camera. The smartphone will be IP68 certified for dust and water resistance along with iris scanning and wireless charging features. The smartphones will have stereo (dual) speakers tuned by AKG, which is also tuning the earphones that the smartphones will ship with.
