Samsung recently launched its powerhouse smartphone, the Galaxy C9 Pro, its first device with 6GB RAM. While the new phone by Samsung looks great in terms of looks and features, it will have to compete with a few smartphones in the segment which is already quite popular in the market. One such smartphone is by Chinese manufacturer OnePlus, called as the OnePlus 3T. The sleek and beautifully designed smartphone was debuted by OnePlus recently as a follow up to its hugely popular OnnePlus 3 device. The OnePlus 3T gathered a lot of attention because of some of the features it had introduced. While the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro smartphone has been priced at Rs 36,900 the OnePlus 3T will cost consumers, Rs 34,999, and that too for the 128GB premium version.

Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro was up for pre-orders on the Samsung India online store and was reported to begin shipping after February 12. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 3T smartphone is being sold as an Amazon-exclusive smartphone. Both Galaxy C9 Pro and OnePlus 3T feature a metal body. The Samsung phone is the first phone in India to introduce the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC processor. It contains a lot of features including a super camera and great display with a decent multimedia experience. But it is much heavier than the OnePlus 3T. Meanwhile, OnePlus 3T sports a Snapdragon 821 processor. In terms of memory, OnePlus 3T offers its users up to 128GB, but Samsung provides only 64GB. But on the Samsung device, you can extend it using a memory card, which is not allowed on the OnePlus smartphone.

Both the smartphones have similar camera features, as they contain 16-megapixel front and rear sensors. Additionally, there are many similarities, including support for LTE, dual-SIM and Android Marshmallow. Each of them has their own skins on top, though. But, Samsung beats OnePlus in the battery department. The Galaxy C9 Pro is powered by a 4,000 mAh, while the OnePlus 3T has a 3,400 mAh battery.

Verdict:

While most of the features on both OnePlus 3T and Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro are the same, Samsung’s latest device beats the former in its battery and with slightly better camera features. Samsung also scores a little above because of its expandable memory option. But the difference in features is so small in terms of connectivity, graphics, photography, battery and power that OnePlus 3T can easily compete with it, especially because of the price range. It is more affordable than the Samsung device and works just as well, which is evident from its popularity. So, if you want a Samsung device with premium features without having to pay premium prices, then chose it, but don’t rule out OnePlus’ flagship device as well. But, the OnePlus 3T smartphone is currently unavailable at the moment on Amazon. So, if you do not want to wait for a cheaper handset with almost similar specs, you can very well go for the little pricier Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro and you will not regret it.
