Reliance Jio ‘Summer Surprise’ offer to give free data for 3 more months: Everything that you need to know

Reliance Jio has announced that more than 72 million users signed up for the network service's Prime membership in the past month. Also, Jio extended the deadline by 15 days, to pay the Prime membership fee along with the Rs 303 tariff plan.

Reliance Jio has announced that more than 72 million users signed up for the network service’s Prime membership in the past month. Also, Jio extended the deadline by 15 days, to pay the Prime membership fee along with the Rs 303 tariff plan. If you still have not purchased the offer, you can do so until April 15. In the press release Jio writes: “Considering the unprecedented demand for enrolling to JIO PRIME and doing the first recharge, Jio has extended the deadline for purchasing Jio’s Rs 303 (and other) plans till 15th April.”

Jio also rolled out the Jio Summer Surprise programme for its Prime customers. Under this new offer, Prime members can recharge with Rs 303 or higher before the extended date (April 15) and the additional benefit of freebies for the first 3 months as a complimentary offer. This paid tariff rates will be applicable from July after the complimentary service is over. Jio said that the Summer Surprise offer is the first of much more such offers for Jio Prime members.

The deadline extension has been provided by Jio so that they can get the time required to avoid service disruption during the move from free to paid services. Jio’s free service will still be over after April 15. If you are a Jio subscriber, and you do not recharge till April 15, your services will degrade or get discontinued, according to the company. Reliance Industries Limited Chairman and MD, Mukesh said, “But, I am conscious that this is the largest migration from free to paid services in history. We are committed to doing this gradually so that both Jio and Jio customers have the time to adjust, fine tune and perfect this transition.”

The press release also informed about Mobile Number Portability (MNP), which it said enables users to retain their existing phone number when they switch to Jio, is available across India for all users.

According to Ambani, Jio has made the world’s biggest greenfield 4G LTE wireless broadband network, with more than 1 lakh mobile towers. He added that Jio will add 1 lakh more towers to its network in the next few months using an investment of more than Rs 2 lakh crores, which according to the company is the biggest all over the world. He also promised that with the expansion of investments Jio’s service will improve in the next few months despite the fact that there are small pockets of congestion on its network.

The company said that it will bring transformational changes in the Indian digital services sector in a bid to support the vision of Digital India and make the country a leader in the digital economy market.
